Marcus Murdoch is an engaging and experienced business consultant with 12 years of international experience at Ernst & Young. His proven track record in delivering sustained results spans across a diverse range of commercial and agricultural enterprises. With a comprehensive background in transforming businesses, Marcus possesses a wide range of expertise, including strategy development, financial management, project management, technology implementation, contract negotiation, tax planning, and financial reporting. Marcus, married to Amy, enjoys spending time with his two daughters, Lily and Sophia. He embraces an active lifestyle, engaging in outdoor activities like touch rugby and mountain biking. With qualifications as a Chartered Accountant and a Bachelor of Commerce, Marcus combines extensive experience and a passion for business and the outdoors. He is equipped to drive transformative growth and financial success for organisations.
With thirty plus years in rural business service accounting firms, Richard has deep experience to draw upon in the farm accounting industry. From assisting new contract and sharemilkers get set up and further supporting them as they grow their businesses, to working with families on farm succession challenges, business sales or company wind ups Richard has experience across the board. Richard is married to Linda and they have three adult sons. Outside of work Richard continues to be involved in sporting and community organisations in hands on and administration roles.
Amie is a client advisor specializing in commercial sector clients. With over 20 years experience in creating practical real-world accounting solutions that are also tax effective. Amie particularly enjoys supporting start-ups and clients with business purchases and sales. Amie is married to Steve and has two school aged children, Ellie and Blake. Amie is a keen social hiker, skier and loves organizing outdoor adventures with groups of family and friends. Qualifications: Chartered Accountant, Bachelor of Commerce with First class honors.
I grew up on a farm in Winchmore and went to Ashburton College before heading to Lincoln University. After graduating from Lincoln in 1998 with a BCM in Finance I began work in an office. I joined the Croys team in 2004 and since then have attained my ACA qualification. Due to my rural background I have an interest in farm accounting. Outside of work my spare time is involved with my interest in music, renovating my house and spending time with family and friends.
I started at Croys in 1993 as an accountant. I moved into a part time position when I had my family and recently moved into the position of Client Service Manager. I am married to Paul and we have three children. We farm at Wakanui. In my spare time I enjoy supporting the kids in their activites, running, and catching up with family and friends.
14 years working on farms in NZ and Australia, followed by 22 years as an accountant in Ashburton means Pete has the knowledge and expertise to deliver results for your business and to make your annual financial statements preparation a painless process. Pete has a wealth of knowledge in investment markets and the application of FIF /PIE reporting requirements for your tax compliance. I have enjoyed working at Croys Ltd for the last 15 years. Prior to working here, I worked at the Ashburton and Christchurch offices of PGG Trust and Brophy Knight & Partners. I am married to Owen and we have a son Daniel and a lovely old dog named Sootie. Outside work I enjoy supporting Daniel and his band and Owen refereeing football. My other interests include breeding and racing horses, walking, reading and spending time with our friends and extended family.
Since moving to New Zealand from the United Kingdom in 2005, I have completed a Bachelor of Commere Degree at the University of Canterbury and this year finished all the Professional Competency Exam to become a Chartered Accountant. Interests outside work include enjoying the farming life on the crop farm my partner Mark manages, spending time with our young son Riley and two collie dogs Flax and Sox and sightseeing around New Zealand.
I joined the team at Croys in July 2010 as a part time administrator. I have since changed positions within the firm, and now work fulltime as an accountant and have commenced part time study through Aoraki Polytechnic. I am really enjoying this change of career. I have lived in Mid Canterbury all my life and enjoy the lifestyle it offers. I have 4 children and am kept busy supporting their interests of netball, basketball, rugby, squash, gymnastics, highland dancing and water ski-ing. Outside of work I enjoy reading, going to the movies, and catching up with friends and family.
Born in Ashburton I grew up on my parent’s sheep farm. I graduated from Otago University in 2003 with a BCom in Marketing. In 2011 I decided to change career paths and was lucky enough to join the Croys Team. I studied extramurally through Massey University and was very pleased to finish this and pass my NZICA Foundations exam in July 2013. This year will see me qualified as an Associated Chartered Accountant. Outside of work I enjoy catching up with friends, a bit of gardening and playing sport, mainly netball and tennis. I live with my husband Adam on his family cropping farm at Wakanui and enjoy living in the country and helping out on the farm where needed.
I began working at Croys in May 2018 as an accounting team member and in July 2019 I commenced my studies with Massey University, working towards a Bachelor of Accountancy. I grew up in the Ashburton, and in my spare time I enjoy skiing at Mt Hutt, walking my dog Maisy, reading a good book, and spending time with my friends. I am also a Ranger Leader.
I am married to Kevin and have 2 children who are adults now with their own families. I was born in Ashburton but had a 6 year stint in Dunedin/Mosgiel. We moved back to Ashburton in 2000 which is when my accounting career started - receiving my accounting technician qualification in 2008. I love spending time with my grand kids and in my spare time I make 3D pictures and try to keep fit by walking.
Julie has worked in various admin roles for over 30 years & has worked for Croys for 17 years. Julie has extensive payroll experience especially in the agri industry & NZ employment law knowledge. Julie enjoys working with clients to help them meet their employment obligations. Julie is married to Phil & has two adult children & two grandchildren, outside of work Julie enjoys the outdoors especially fishing & biking. Qualifications – Xero payroll accredited
I joined the Croys team in April 2018 in a part time capacity and later moved to a fulltime role as receptionist/administrator. Previously I was teaching at the Mid Canterbury Technology Centre in a permanent part-time position and prior to having children had taught science at Ashburton College. I am married to Richard and we have 3 adult sons. In my spare time I enjoy reading, being active, getting out on the golf course and supporting the boys in their endeavours.
Louise Brownlee is an experienced accountant with over 20 years of experience in the field. She is passionate about working closely with her clients to help them transform their businesses and reach their financial goals. In addition to her accounting expertise, Louise is a dedicated mother of two children. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time in the great outdoors and indulging in her hobby of cake decorating. With her extensive experience and personal approach, Louise is a valuable asset to any business looking to improve their financial health.
Kate Shaw is an experienced accountant with a passion for Xero, specializing in commercial clients and small businesses. With 10 years of experience, Kate excels in providing tailored solutions for businesses, particularly in the SME sector. Outside of work, Kate is a quiz master and a dedicated mother to Hahna. She enjoys weight lifting, reading, and gaming, which provide her with relaxation and new experiences. With her expertise in Xero and diverse interests, Kate is equipped to offer comprehensive accounting support, ensuring the financial success and growth of her clients.
I started as an accountant in 2018 after working as a certified youth worker. I began with Croys March 2020, great timing. I have completed my bachelor’s degree in commerce with an accounting major and I am currently working through study to become a chartered accountant. Outside of work I help my husband Seth with our business and volunteer at my church and lead the music team. I also enjoy games nights with friends, getting amongst the outdoors, camping, working out and, family.
